Set out to do a longer run today. Really no specific goal. Just stretch the distance out a bit since the last two runs were so short. First half mile of this run was really odd. I looked down at my watch and my heart rate was between 80-100 bpm. It usually ramps up to 140-150 within the first couple of hundred yards. Wish I could figure out the magic behind that. Notice the heart rate made a quick jump up after that though and fell into place in the 150's until I started increasing the effort at around the 5 mile mark. Set a new 1 hour distance PR on this run of 9.59 km. Definitely a good day. Need to start pushing it out further than this though. Want to run my first half marathon next month and I have barely covered half that distance in a single run so far. Would like to see some 8 and 10 mile runs coming out of me in the next week or two. Still have some catching up to do on my training diary. Have run the previous two days (Monday and Tuesday) without posting and also haven't put up my U.S. Open post either. Will try to get to those soon.
