It is the weekend and I have the kids to myself all day. Daughter had a football game (cheer) as well. Not only reason that I took today off though. The achilles are feeling a little more sore today. I am pretty well convinced now that the fuller range of motion and explosive power generated in my speed runs is a little more than my achilles are in shape for right now. They hurt every time after I do speed work. Not nearly as bad this time though. I'll back off the speed for a week or two as I can tell they are progressing. Doesn't feel like an injury. More like my body telling me, "you better be careful!" Funny, I can run less than 2 miles worth of speed work and have considerable pain yet run 6 miles and feel fine. Definitely learning something about the differences in form as it changes according to pace.
