Here is my 2015 calendar. I am looking to get in a lot more volume and to start doing a better job of planning my training now that I have an o.k. base from last year. I started the year out using a custom training plan that I tweaked from one of the half Ironman plans available to BeginnerTriathlete.com gold members. They have a couple of free training plans available, but due to the extreme time constraints I have to deal with, I needed a plan I could easily customize. Their gold memberships are not expensive and I highly recommend getting one if you are self trained and don't have the money for a coach. You will notice that these workouts, taken from TrainingPeaks.com, start to show more color as I am now adding in my planned duration or distance to many workouts. This is a change compared to last year where I was just doing workouts adhoc depending on what I felt like doing for that day. My first training plan is in preparation for Ironman Galveston 70.3 on April 26th. I will then look to dial it back a bit for the rest of the season and focus on sprint and Olympic distance races.
November 23 - November 29, 2015
This was the week of Thanksgiving and I spent most of it at my parent's house with the kids. I had bronchitis and was on a Z-pack and Prednisone to get rid of it. With that said, training was pretty much off the table until later in the week. I did run the Denton Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving day, a short 5 mile run on Friday and then a longer 13 mile run on Saturday. All told, I only got in 3 hours of running, but was happy with the week as I could easily have used the holiday and sickness as excuses to bomb the whole week.
